Privacy, in plain words
For students and the grown-ups who look out for them. Last updated October 28, 2026.
Who it's for
Al G Brah is a free algebra practice gym for students 13 and up. Use a nickname, not your full real name. There is no email sign-up and we never ask for an email, address, phone number, school or birthday.
What we store
- Your fighter name, so you can sign back in.
- A scrambled check of your PIN. The PIN itself is never stored; it is mixed into a one-way code.
- Your progress: wins, stars, XP, your coach choice and recent fights, including how many wrong moves and hints each fight took.
- Daily training totals: minutes on the gym, minutes actively training, and how many questions you asked Al G and TRIG. Only the daily numbers are kept, never what you typed.
- A scrambled check of your recovery code, so you can reset a forgotten PIN.
- Daily counters (how many chats and sign-in tries come from a device), used only to stop abuse and runaway costs. They use a scrambled code made from the network address, never the address itself, and are not tied to your name.
- Wrong-PIN counts for a fighter name, so guessing a PIN gets locked out. They are removed when you delete your record.
Chats with Al G and TRIG
What you type to Al G or TRIG is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI to write the reply. The gym does not save your chats. Anthropic, and Cloudflare, which carries the message, handle it under their own privacy policies and may keep it for a short time for safety and abuse checks. Don't type personal information into a chat.
What we don't do
- No ads. No selling or sharing your information.
- No tracking cookies. The site uses Cloudflare's privacy-first page counts (no cookies, no personal profiles) to see how many visits it gets.
- The lettering comes from Google Fonts, so your browser asks Google's servers for the font files and Google sees your network address. No account or cookie is involved.
Who can see a record
You, with your fighter name and PIN, and any parent you've linked. The person who runs the gym can also view every fighter's progress (names, wins, stars, XP and daily training minutes), unlock a locked name, or issue a new recovery code, to keep the gym safe. Nobody else can.
Parents and families
- A parent signs in with their email address (we email them a sign-in link). Parents join by invite, from another parent or from their kid in the gym, and sign-in emails only go to parents already in the gym. We store the parent's email only to sign them in. A student may type a parent's email to invite them; students never give their own email.
- A parent can see a fighter only after the fighter joins their family, either by opening the parent's invite link and choosing their own PIN, or by typing the parent's link code in the gym (Menu → Parents). Invites work once and expire after 24 hours.
- A linked parent sees the weekly report (wins, stars, accuracy, hints, minutes trained, questions asked as a number) and can unlock sign-in or make a new recovery code. Parents never see chats with Al G or TRIG.
- A family can have more than one parent. A fighter can leave a family any time from Menu → Parents, and deleting a record removes every family link.
Delete your record
Sign in, open Progress, and choose Delete my record. Your fighter name, progress, recovery code check and wrong-PIN counts are removed for good. Any copy saved on that device for offline practice is removed too.
Forgot your PIN?
When you join, the gym shows a one-time recovery code. On the sign-in screen choose Forgot your PIN?, enter your fighter name and the code, and pick a new PIN. Five wrong PINs from one device lock that device out of the name for 15 minutes; twenty wrong PINs from anywhere lock the name for an hour.
